Let’s hope sooner than later! We are collaborating with some seriously cool artists; some very creative talent, so let’s see what they come up with. Maybe some origamimushi!

These designs are incredible and it all makes me curious…
1. Is there an urban toy museum? (I know there are expo’s, but are there any actual museums?)
2. Who holds the largest privately owned urban toy collection in the world? How much is it worth?

Let me see what I can find out. I know of a guy who’s been a vinyl designer toy collector since the 90’s, his name is Jakuan El Haseem (from the Bronx, NY), who sculpts and makes toys. His splace is 360 toy group, and you can check it out at http://www.dubtitled.com/360toygroup/popUp.aspx. In the meantime I would also check this cool Flickr account http://www.flickr.com/groups/customvinyltoys/as well as this gallery showcase site: http://www.creativecloseup.com/awesome-designer-toys-gallery. There is a nice “museum”-looking gallery in Wynwood (part of Miami’s Design District), called Harold Golen Gallery, who has specialized in pop surrealism of which many artists have turned to vinyl toy creations to add to their repertoir of talented work. Check it out at: http://www.haroldgolengallery.com/. Thanks, and keep coming back for more updates on the vinyl designer urban toy industry!
